Upgrading to a STM-4 Backbone

Situation

A customer in Southeast Asia wanted to replace an existing Ethernet/E1 leased line solution with an Ethernet over STM-4 solution but was concerned about the capital costs involved.

Solution

We deployed Loop-O9400R rack devices at each site to replace the FOMs and reconfigure the DSLAMs so the customer could switch to a STM-4 backbone. The O9400R supports STM-1/4/16 (OC-3/12/48), multiple ring protection with SNCP (Subnetwork Connection Protection), and more features.

Loop’s O9400R devices provided a reliable Ethernet over STM-4 solution at an affordable price without sacrificing quality. The high capacity of the O9400R system also provided room for the customer to expand their network in the future. For combining many low speed interfaces like FXS, FXO, and E&M, the Loop O9400R provides a perfect SDH backhaul for power utilities and oil & gas companies.
