This application has been used multiple times for banking enterprises in South America and East Asia. Most recently, it is being field tested in a coastal Chinese city. In this situation, banks are currently using data transmission equipment over a V.35 interface at their headquarters. The carrier company runs a wider network based on a fiber optical SDH/SONET cloud. Direct communication between bank HQ and branch offices is desired but no dedicated lines or lease lines exist. A PBX solution is desired as well.
Loop Telecom products help the carrier satisfy the enterprise customer. The O9310 is a simple standalone device at the bank's offices that multiplexes the bank's signals into an optical fiber. On the O9310, E1 interfaces exist for the PBX and V.35 DTE interfaces for the data signals. The fiber optical side of the O9310 connects with the carrier's wider network.
At the carrier side of the network, the O9400R provides the optical cross-connects to communicate with the rest of the network. The system as a whole allows both data communication and voice communication to work seamlessly. The O9400R supports up to 56 normal or 28 1+1 protection fiber links to the O9310.
